The After-School and Mentoring Programs of the East Wake Leadership Academy are designed to provide ongoing academic, social, leadership and behavioral support to kindergarten through eighth grade students in eastern Wake County. The program is in its second year of home-work help, academic skill building, leadership training and self-management support. Students are picked up from their respective elementary or middle school and brought to the East Wake Leadership Academy where they are served from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.


Students will work toward achieving the following goals:

  •  Improve academic performance
  • Improve behavior and habits that allow them to live in community and cooperation with others (superiors and peers).
  • Enjoy learning
  • Practice everyday leadership by learning to manage themselves in a productive way
