The EWLA Summer Camp Experience

Summer camp is a six-week, free adventure-filled program with an array of activities -- academic refreshment, faith-building, indoor and outdoor games, and weekly field trips.

Connected themes and activities

Exciting camp themes like "Out of One Garden: A Focus on Diversity," and "Loving My Neighbor, A Focus on Community Service" allow us to pull together all activities under a single idea. In years past, they have grown, harvested, helped prepare meals, and eaten from a children's vegetable garden, participated in service projects, dove into academic basics, and still managed to play a lot!

Camp Goal

The East Wake Leadership Academy Summer Camp's number one goal is to develop youth with integrity. They will know the importance of respecting their superiors, their peers, and their communities.

The East Wake Leadership Academy Summer Camps keep children safe and out of trouble during the summer vacation. But they do so much more. They will also improve students' self-awareness, self-confidence, and cultural awareness.

Outcomes

The following are some of the expected outcomes of our summer camps.

Campers will:

● Have a well-balanced, happy, and safe vacation experience; 

● Gain academic ground in preparation for returning to school;

● Have unique experiences that include creating memories and developing skills that will lead to future school and life success.

● Make new and positive friendships; and

● Strengthen moral character.
